Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC), part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking a BC/BE Adult Cardiac Surgeon (or appropriate foreign equivalent) to join the Section of Cardiac Surgery at Cape Cod Hospital which is an affiliate of LHMC Cardiac Surgery. Candidates should have strong demonstrated clinical expertise in the broad spectrum of all Adult Cardiac Surgery. Experience with Transcatheter valve technology as primary operator with interventional cardiology is required. An ideal candidate must have 3-5 years of experience after completion of residency or greater. This surgeon will be in a group of 6 cardiac surgeons, with two surgeons covering Cape Cod Hospital only.
The Section of Cardiac Surgery at LHMC provides the full range of cardiac surgical care for adult patients, excluding ventricular assist devices and transplantation. LHMC Cardiac Surgery has a clinical affiliation with Cape Cod Hospital’s Cardiac Surgical Division in Hyannis, MA which performs the similar spectrum of adult cardiac surgery as well. Appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Massachusetts - T.H. Chan School of Medicine - Lahey will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Cape Cod Hospital is part of Cape Cod Health Care which serves the population of Cape Cod and its neighborhoods. It is located in Hyannis, MA. It is a multi-specialty hospital which has provided cardiac surgical services since 2002. Cardiac surgery at Cape Cod Hospital is a full-service program with independent operating rooms, dedicated APP and Perfusion personnel and cardiac anesthesiology services. It has a 6 bed Cardiac Surgery ICU.
The Lahey Health (which includes LHMC, LHMC-Peabody, Winchester Hospital, Beverly Hospital and Addison Gilbert Hospital) integrated delivery system consists of over 1,200 clinicians providing care throughout Lahey Health’s network of acute care hospitals, ambulatory centers, physician practice sites, behavioral health facilities, long-term care facilities, home health organizations and care management programs. In March 2019, Lahey Health merged with four other local hospital organizations (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, New England Baptist, Mount Auburn, and Anna Jacques Hospitals) to form Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). Approximately 4,300 physicians are associated with BILH including 840 primary care physicians managing 1.3 million patients.
