Company Overview
The Sports Medicine & Training Center was established in 2002 and is a therapist-owned private practice specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine, serving all ages and abilities. We provide hands-on, intensive physical therapy interventions in large, well-equipped facilities. SMTC is proud of its interdisciplinary staff including PTs, PTAs, athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, and certified strength coaches. In addition to physical therapy SMTC offers sports performance and personal training services as well as athletic trainers’ services to local high schools and teams. SMTC has two locations in the St. Louis area, conveniently located in Crestwood and Clayton. Areas of particular expertise are running and throwing athletes, endurance athletes, and dancers. Company History
The Sports Medicine & Training Center was established in 2002 by Scott and Roberta Van Nest. Scott, a physical therapist licensed in Missouri since 1985, had a dream to integrate rehabilitation, wellness services, and athletes services into a full circle of care to help its clients stay active and well and able to participate fully in sports and recreational activities as they chose. The original clinic in Webster Groves was in operation from 2002 until 2012 when it relocated to a larger, 8200 square foot facility in Crestwood, MO.The Clayton location, near the St. Louis Galleria, was also opened in 2012.
